În SUA, se pot întîmpla cele mai bizare poveşti. Am aflat de curînd că o biciclistă a fost oprită în New York de un poliţist, deoarece aceasta era îmbrăcată într-o fustă scurtă. Povestea care urmează este ceva mai complexă.
K. C. este poliţistă în Washington şi într-o seară din februarie 2011 se ducea acasă cu bicicleta închiriată din sistemul public Capital Share. A oprit la semafor. Un autovehicul a lovit-o intenţionat din spate. Pasagerii maşinii au rîs şi şoferul a repetat gestul cînd semaforul a trecut la verde.
Biciclista-poliţistă s-a supărat: a scos insigna şi i-a cerut şoferului să stea pe loc. Omul a luat-o din loc speriat, cu maşină cu tot. S-a blocat însă în trafic şi a încercat chiar să o calce pe K. C. A fost prins de un echipaj de poliţie după cîteva minute.
I was unhurt, thank god. I’m glad he was caught and arrested. But I can’t help think of what would have happened if it was some other young woman on bicycle? Someone that’s not a cop, someone that is essentially defenseless. Would he have been caught then?, povesteşte poliţista pe blogul ei .
În luna iunie, biciclista din Washington revine pe blogul său cu detalii:
I looked over the passengers, and I was able to identify the driver very easily. He was placed under arrest at that point. One of the passengers also had a pending warrant and he was placed under arrest as well. The car was searched very thoroughly, but no marijuana could be found. It’s my personal opinion that it was ditched while they fled from me. Either that, or it had just been sold because the driver also had a SHIT TON* OF CASH on him, all in a big wad.
Şoferul a fost băgat la arest, deşi nu era cazul. Poate faptul că a fost o poliţistă implicată în caz a contat. A pornit un proces şi sentinţa va fi dată în 19 august.
Povestea este interesantă pentru că autoarea blogului dă foarte multe detalii despre întîmplare şi despre desfăşurarea acţiunilor legale împotriva şoferului inconştient. Merită să citiţi textul ei kilometric, dacă aveţi timp, şi să meditaţi puţin.
